With relation to the shoe industry, a type of polymer known as polyurethane was reacted with carbon nanotubes to investigate the effects on the mechanical and thermal properties, as these are factors considered for shoe design. Further functionalization of the carbon nanotubes are also carried out to study its effects on the properties of the nanocomposite.
