Fortune telling is a complicated art form with many different lines to take note. Apart from the principle lines on the palm, there are more information like the shape of the hand and the fingers and also the other lines such as fate lines, marriage lines, etc. This system only takes note of the three principle lines which will give a general reading of the person’s fortune. Palm reading is one of the more popular and well known fortune telling techniques. It has always been in human nature to make services and goods more accessible and convenient for the customer/user. What better way to do that then to computerize the whole process and remove the human medium. With the whole palm reading process being converted into a user friendly program, anyone can get to enjoy the value this service can add to everyone’s life, be it in entertainment value or to aid in making decisions.
A palm print identification system exists for purposes like security, authentication, etc. This report makes use of that existing system in order to develop a system just for fortune telling purposes.
This system makes use of greyscale images and extracts the principle lines for fortune telling. After the image is acquired and the image is processed to make the extraction of the principle lines easier and with less noise, it is compared with a database of model palm prints to get the best match.
