Description
Summary:Mobile phone is no longer just about phone call and message. Most of the current mobile phone has various sensors embedded in it and evolved into a powerful sensing device. One of the most common developments of the sensing and communication modules on mobile phones is to provide location and context-aware services. The purpose of this project is to develop mobile application, IODetector, for detecting indoor/outdoor environment by exploiting various lightweight sensor such as, accelerometer, magnetism sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor, and cellular connection to support and improve other location and context-aware services. Based on the result of the project, the application developed is able to produce a high accuracy result in a timely manner, and meet the budget energy constrained on mobile phones. The application is developed using Android 4.0 operating system, which currently is the leader in the mobile operating system in the world.
