This report serves to provide insights into the details and knowledge of the speech recognition system developed by the author throughout the entire period of the final year project. The report starts with the historical background of speech recognition systems, giving a brief introduction on the progression of the various speech recognition systems throughout the years. It then introduces the purpose and usage of speech recognition systems in today’s society. The next part of the report is the literature review of the subject, which consist of detailed explanations on the internal of the various components present in the speech recognition system as well as how the components are utilized in the speech recognition system. The report then introduces and explains the various function developed by the author in the speech recognition system implemented, together with an elaborate explanation on the usage of system developed accompanied with detailed illustrations. The report then presents the various experiments conducted on the system, providing experimental results coupled with an analysis of the observations made. The last section of the report then gives the recommendations and future works with regards to speech recognition.
