Summary: | As current technologies advances, more smartphone users look forward to having an application that helps enhance their life. Existing application such as SG Buses and Iris has provided services to the users with information on estimated bus arrival times. However, such services have high dependencies on other sources for their bus information and may not be able to sustain in long run. Therefore, this project looks into providing similar estimated bus arrival time without reliance on external parties for information. A series of data will be collected during the development of this project. These data includes accelerometer and cell-tower id collected during the bus journey of a user. The data will then be analysed by developing an application that uses an algorithm which will analyse the similarity between two cell-tower data and determine the bus stop where the data is collected. From the result of the analysis, it is observed that accurate database data of the cell-tower data is required to accurately identify a bus stop. |
