Description
Summary:The objective of this report is to document the development of Android Social TV application for Cloud-Centric Media Platform (CCMP), including methodology, implementation, documentation and market feedback. CCMP is a social media platform that enables social interaction while users are enjoying media contents like TV shows and videos. This platform uses cloud- computing technology to provide its service through Software-as-a-Service model. CCMP differentiate itself from its potential competitors YouTube and other video streaming websites by supporting social interaction. The best strategy to reinforce the advantage is to put service available via mobile phone. The integration of mobile computing and cloud computing improves platform accessibility as well as timeliness of social interaction. This is the primary incentive of this project. Social media is new, ever changing and involving. CCMP at present stage not only allows user watch, share, upload, delete video but also send text messages, video chat and perform session transfer from one electric device to another. With the help of rapidly growing social media technology with patents almost doubling annually [1], CCMP will transform into a much more mature product. Development process uses iterative model. It covers planning, requirements analysis, UML diagram to facilitate design, implementation, user experience test, deployment and documentation. [2]All features have been successively implemented prior to the wringing of this report. The result of user experience test shows that this application provides intuitive, responsive and robust service overall.
