Given the ease at which video games excel in conveying a story or sequence of events, games would likewise serve well as educational tools for various industries and levels of education. The author explores whether a game can serve as a meaningful educational or promotional asset to the medical industry. For this Final Year Project, a hospital-themed medical simulation game titled Residency has been developed for the purpose of letting players experience the job scope of a medical resident in a hospital. In this report, the author takes the reader through the process of designing and developing the game, and then explains how some important game features were implemented. The author then concludes by listing down the limitations of the game, and also makes recommendations for possible future work to be built upon the game.
