Description
Summary:Language is boundless. Most explicitly, it is the means by which human beings communicate their thoughts via speech; and it is through this verbal interaction that they seek to forge a connection with another person. Other than the written word, language can also be expressed in a multitude of ways, both tangible and intangible. The word “language” has more than one interpretation. A reference to some dictionary entries for “language” produces the following: a) [British] Cambridge Dictionary – noun 1. a system of communication consisting of sounds, words, and grammar, or the system of communication used by people in a particular country or type of work. b) [American] Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary – noun a: the words, their pronunciation, and the methods of combining them used and understood by a community. b(1) : audible, articulate, meaningful sound as produced by the action of the vocal organs (2) : a systematic means of communicating ideas or feelings by the use of conventionalized signs, sounds, gestures, or marks having understood meanings.
