Description
Summary:Haptic interaction allow user to feel, touch, and manipulate 3D objects in virtual environment. However, generating the feedback force in real time is highly computational. ‘Tangible image’ framework is proposed to help reduce the visual rendering of the haptic interaction by replacing 3D reconstruction with 2D image. This project developed an application to create ‘tangible image’ and gave better experiences of haptic interaction using ‘tangible image’. Performance of existing application will be improved; bugs and problems found will be treated; Graphical User Interface of the application will be implemented in order to give better user experiences. More over, different modes of haptic interaction are proposed to provide different experiences based on the characteristic of the image. In the end of the project, a complete application and new features have been implemented. User interface and parameter settings to ease adjustment of the haptic device also have been created.
