Additionally, it also examined the interaction effects between peer delinquency and parenting, as well as the differential roles of paternal and maternal parenting on adolescent aggression. Thirty-six Singapore secondary school students ranging in ages from 13 to 16 years completed the self-report measures. Results showed that paternal guan significantly exacerbated the effect of peer delinquency on reactive aggression. Moreover, the effect of peer delinquency on proactive aggression was attenuated by the perceived maternal warmth. Findings identify the moderating role of parenting styles on the relations between peer delinquency and aggression subtypes in the Asian context. Implications for interventions are discussed.
