Description
Summary:Purple Light is a narrative short film produced by a student group, Soap Bar Pictures as part of their Final Year Project. Soap Bar Pictures houses 2 final year students, Ang Zhi Xin Cecilia and Charlene Yiu Hui Xian from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communications and Information (WKWSCI), Nanyang Technological University. Supervised by Mr Kym Campbell and Purple Light took approximately 10 months to complete. Based on a true story, Purple Light set in the army context, tells of the story of Low Zipeng, an army recruit on how he overcomes and faces what matters mostly to his heart: Love, Sexuality, Brotherhood and Family. This report chronicles the journey of this final year project from conceptualization to preproduction, to filming and post-production. It explains some of the decisions that we made in the creation of our film, and reflects on our processes of filmmaking as well.
