Summary: | The world is changing with fast growing of human population and massive demands in development and economic needs. This resulted in depletion of conventional energy such as fossil fuel, coal and gas to increase drastically over the past decades. An alternative solution could be renewable energy; solar, nuclear, hydro and wind are some examples of energies that can be used to generate electricity.
These effects were indeed felt across the globe; however, unlike developed countries including Singapore, there are less developed countries facing much worse scenario for example, Cambodia and Afghanistan. Majority of their populations are living in poverty which deter them from having proper electrical supply. Therefore in order to aid the living conditions of these people, a photovoltaic system will be designed and built, and may be implemented in these rural places in the near future.
In this report, we will be discussing on the design, implementation, testing and analyzing of a hardware photovoltaic system; it consists of a solar tracking device, charge controller, DC-AC inverter, and graphical user interface. To emphasize, the main focus of this report will be on the design and implementation of the DC-AC inverter and graphical user interface.
Finally, there will also be a conclusion and recommendation for future work for us to improve the photovoltaic system. |
