Summary:Privatization is a subject of concern to many people because of the impacts it has on the economy. The Public Utilities Board (PUB) is the second statutory board to be privatized in Singapore. At present, PUB has taken its first step towards privatization by carving out its electricity and gas department for corporatisation. This report presents to the readers the current situation in PUB's privatization plans. It also attempts to examine the possible impacts privatization will have on the privatized statutory board, consumers and the financial market.
