This report discusses on the CanSat that was built by 4 EEE students inclusive of me and a MAE student before the inception of this project. It focuses on how the message data was corrupted due to different types of constraints, followed by providing suitable recommendations to address these problems. The project’s main aim is to research and implement an error correction code instead of error detection with retransmission into the CanSat. This helps to ensure the ground station receive most of the message data over a long distance without corruption. Why error correction code should be used instead and which error correction code that is suitable for the CanSat will be illustrated in the report in greater detail. The report also showcases several other techniques and its functions in improving the communication between the CanSat and the receiver in the later part of this report. The simulated results of the testing, which are shown at the final part, will also justify the type of code and best methodology suited for this project.
