Moreover, microstrip dual-band bandpass filter (BPF) is a key component in a radio frequency receiver for the growing wireless communication applications operating in multi-band, especially in the new developed wireless local area networks. Minimizing the size, improving the transmission efficiency and widen passband are challenge tasks in filter designing process. In this final year project, one high order dual-band bandpass filter structure has been proposed. After analyzing the structure by using both circuit calculation and mathematical calculation methods, optimal impedance values with our desired central frequency, bandwidth and passband locations can be achieved. Furthermore, one wide dual-band bandpass filter with bandwidth of 1.45GHz for each passband is obtained and simulated. Meanwhile, there are four transmission poles located in each passband to achieve more flat transmission band. Finally, following our design and synthesis procedure, people are able to gain the optimal impedance values directly with desired bandwidth and band locations after running our MATLAB functions instead of manually tuning every parameter for our high order filter structure.
