Summary: | This study was initiated by our supervisor, Dr Liu Yunhua, so as to enhance the understanding of the traffic conditions in Singapore. In this study, we looked into the land transport situation in Singapore since her independence. Central to this study is the attempt to answer the questions of whether Singapore is really facing a congestion and why is there a perceived failure in the policies implemented by the government to curb car ownership. In the process, we suggested a simple equation to show the effect of other factors on the demand of vehicles in Singapore. |
