Only in recent years has western medicine has taken an interest in Taichi and has begun conducting research into the impacts of Taichi on the well being of an individual. In this report, the author aims to examine literature that sheds some light on the effects that Taichi has on the biological neural network of the body. After sufficient analysis, the author has put forth his own hypothesis on the possible scientific reasons for the various health benefits of Taichi. In particular, the author has concentrated on the electrical, impulse generating nature of the brain and its electrical connections with the various parts of the body.
