Description
Summary:It is a study of recently developed wireless ad-hoc network protocol called B.A.T.M.A.N (Better Approach to Mobile Ad-hoc Network). And on the top of the B.A.T.M.A.N, network coding is introduced. It makes use of some inherent advantages of B.A.T.M.A.N, such as OGM, coding opportunity and overhearing. Hence, all the new features of batman-adv-nc are described in detailed and its advantages are highlighted. Next, experiments are conducted in real wireless environment instead of simulation. Results are compared with network coding enabled and disabled. The experiments are done at different data rates, and using 2 topologies, Alice and Bob topology and Cross Alice and Bob topology. The performance is evaluated in terms of throughput. And several tools were used throughout the experiments to monitor the coding behaviors.
