Standards profile for IPv6 implementation in Singapore-transition mechanisms, routing and multicast requirements

This dissertation develops a standards profile (specified in IPv6 Transition Mechanisms, Routing Protocol and Multicast) for IPv6 deployment in Singapore by studying the specified RFCs (Request for Comments) published by IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force). The first chapter is about the purpose...

The first chapter is about the purpose and scope of this project, as well as the overview ofIPv6 technology and global IPv6 deployment. The second chapter divides the network devices into three types (Host, Router and Network Protection Device), and users are divided into three groups (Home & Small Business, Enterprise & Government and Internet Service Provider). Chapter 3, 4 and 5 will give detailed introduction to IPv6 Transition Mechanisms, Routing Protocol and Multicast; some selected RFCs of each section will be studied so that we can set different requirement levels (Must, Should and Option) to these RFCs to generate a requirement table. Finally, the requirement tables of each section are presented at the end of this dissertation.
