Summary:This dissertation focuses on Carbon Nanotube (CNT) based Transparent and Conductive Films (TCFs). TCFs have been adopted as an essential component of liquid crystal displays, touch screens, solar cells, etc. For commercial applications, the conducting material can be made by indium tin oxide (ITO) which is brittle and becomes more expensive as supply of indium runs low. CNTs have been regarded as one potential candidate to replace ITO for transparent and conductive electrodes. For commercial use, the minimum optical and electrical requirements for TCFs are transmittance T>90% and sheet resistance Rs<lOOH/sq. However nowadays the CNT based TCFs cannot reach that standard. How to increase the conductivity without sacrificing the transmittance is a key of a large scale application of the CNT based TCFs.
