Description
Summary:Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a network that monitors physical or environmental conditions, like temperature, pressure, etc. and pass their data through the network to a main location. WSN is used widely in today’s environment. The areas that implement these systems are usually places where there are lots of people roaming around such as in shopping malls. In this final year project, a basic platform of a WSN is to be designed and implemented in the Sensor Network Lab. The Ekahau software is used in the initial phase of the project where the map of the lab and calibration is done. Linux is used to write and compile the program for scanning the signal strength of surrounding access points and sending the data back to the main access point. Calibration is then conducted in the lab and testing is carried out to track the location of the tag. This report will discuss on the current achievement of the WSN system and the difficulties faced along the way. The research of the different sensors that can be implemented in the system will also be introduced. Lastly, some recommendations and future works are being discussed to improve on the current level of the project.
