الوصف
الملخص:This project will develop a demand response management system that will interface with the building energy management system to facilitate load control and short-term load reduction at the consumer premises during system constraints or periods of maximum demand. In this way, the energy management system (EMS) will shed non-essential loads in buildings such as corridor lighting loads. The EMS can also automatically adjust the temperature of the HVAC system in order to reduce the instantaneous loading on the HVAC compressor. This will help level the load on the grid and therefore raise the overall efficiency of the power grid. The demand response function can help keep the grid in balance when energy supplies get tight, or as more distribution generations like solar, wind, and micro-turbine come online.
