Description
Summary:This project encompasses the theory of fringe projection methods used in 3D scanning to design and test a 3D compact measurement system for measurement and inspection. The base components of the system having already been set, the task of this project was to design a enclosing system casing complete with an interface panel and aesthetic design suitable for mass production before calibration of the system and testing of its capabilities were performed. 2 sets of tests were run using 2 sets of samples generated for the purpose of testing this system with the results of the system showing satisfactory accuracy and precision for the given range of the machine. In conclusion a well designed system was created with a good accuracy and 3D capture capabilities with possible improvements coming from the further miniaturization of components within the system to reduce the overall footprint of the hardware and improvements in the software workflow to improve the overall processing time and improving the user interface of the software for more efficient results.
