The Earth appears to be unique in our solar system in that it contains an enormous amount of water and that water has existed in a form not too different from its present state for billions of years.
Given that the laws of the nature operate everywhere in the solar system, we have to question why we are fortunate to have large bodies of water on out planetary surface for a long time.
Water and Ice are the most studied materials on earth but it is indeed amazing that the science behind their behaviour and function are so poorly understood and even ignored. Liquid water‘s special properties and chameleonic nature seem to fit ideally into the requirements for life.
Water has its own gift because it is the source to start the life in Earth. But the water can cause the disaster through flooding due to the ice melting. |
