Description
Summary:The internet has come a long way since the 1980s when it was introduced and is now widely used worldwide. The advance of robotics and technology has also led to the development of extremely useful and advanced robots and also to the proliferation of low cost microprocessors and sensors. This project will make use of an Arduino Uno, a WiFi shield and an autonomous robot base to perform the task of mapping out an enclosed area. The Internet will be used as a form of communication between the robot and the outside world. Through the Internet, the user is able to view the sensor readings of the robot live, through either Cosm or Google Docs. Control of the robot is also possible through the internet. Using preassigned commands, commands can be passed through the internet to the autonomous robot base. This report will cover the construction/assembly of the robot and the various technologies used in the implementation of the mapping features.
