description |
Fossil fuel are still mainly used to generate electricity which is not good for the environment as it increases pollution and the fuel sources is depleting, hence it is essential to find viable alternative to replace fossil fuelled power plants.
The aim of this project was to design a renewable generator through either re-designing an existing generator or creating a new generator. Research was carried out on existing renewable generators and new generator concepts which one method of generating electricity was selected for development. A magnetic generator was selected to be developed which this development consist of designing, constructing and testing of a prototype.
The prototype was unsuccessful to generate electricity and many ambiguities arises, however explanations were suggested for its failure which the selected explanation was due to its concept. The results of this project suggest that magnetic generators are not possible or not effective in generating electricity which will not be a reliable solution for a renewable generator.
This report describes the development of creating the prototype of the magnetic generator. |
