Description
Summary:This project aims to validate the technical feasibility of combining the best features of various mechanical parts such as magnet, flywheel and spring with proven developments in perpetual motion for energy storage and delivery. Two magnetic energy storage system prototypes were designed and fabricated with two different patterns of flywheel and corresponding accessories. With different shapes and arrangements of magnets, the flywheels displayed varying capability of interacting with accessories. Two sets of tests were thoroughly designed and performed in order to investigate the relationship between the magnetic interaction and height difference as well as angle of planes. The performance parameters of this project are determined by the output voltage from generator and the length of time after power being off from the system. The test results obtained indicate that with same height of central axis and same plane between flywheel and small magnetic wheel, the system is able to produce higher output voltage and longer length of spinning time of flywheel.
