Identification of friction behaviour in disc tribotester

Friction behavior between two rotating disk is widely studied by various organization. In a motor vehicle clutch system, the static and kinetic friction model is developed; and understanding these phenomena will help designer to design a quality vehicle clutch system with a good life span....

In a motor vehicle clutch system, the static and kinetic friction model is developed; and understanding these phenomena will help designer to design a quality vehicle clutch system with a good life span. In this report, a part of a clutch system (clutch disk and flywheel) was designed and fabricated. This is to analyze the behavior of micro friction that occurs in the pre-sliding region. Extensive literature reviews were shown to understand the performance of friction between two materials. Then a conceptual design for a clutch system was created with help of embodiment principles, a final design was selected. Experiments were conducted to gather useful data related to the friction between the two plates. Finally a conclusion was derived based on the data obtained from the results Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) 2013-06-14T03:56:52Z 2013-06-14T03:56:52Z 2013 2013 Final Year Project (FYP) http://hdl.handle.net/10356/54147 en Nanyang Technological University 62 p. application/pdf
