Description
Summary:Band-pass filter is significant building block in modern communication system. Nowadays, high performance band-pass filters are needed in many microwave systems. Thus this project presents a narrow band-pass filter with hybrid slot-line and stub-line inverters. At first, an even order Chebyshev band-pass filter prototype is proposed and transformed into network design based on λ/4 micro-strip line resonators and hybrid J/K inverters. Secondly, two adjacent capacitive λ/4 micro-strip line resonators are coupled with each other by introducing an additional slot line under them as J inverter or through a via-hole as K inverter. In order to extract the J/K inverters’ values and their respective associated effective lengths, the insertion loss method is applied in this project. Lastly, the schematic and layout of the filters are investigated with simulation results using Advanced Design System (ADS). Moreover, all the even order filters center at 2.4GHz with 10% fractional bandwidth and 20dB return loss.
