Hence going green has been one of the biggest goals of most governments in today’s society in their pursuit for a sustainable economy. The idea of using energy harvesting modules to solve the limited lifetime of a battery has become an appealing approach. There are many energy harvesting methods available, such as the use of solar, piezoelectric and electromagnetic. In this paper, the solar energy harvesting is presented. The motivation of this project is to make use of solar energy in place of the battery to power up the Radio Frequency Identification tag (RFID) tag with the development of the circuit. Performance of the circuit under different light conditions is also evaluated by experimental results.
