The report first reviews the research works already done in this area. Then it looks into the various methodologies to design the regulator. Sub-circuits were designed individually and then put together to form the voltage regulator. Next, simulations were carried out to evaluate the performance, in terms of transient response, load and line regulations. Then, issues were identified and discussed. Finally, the report provides suggestions for improvements to the designed regulator and offers recommendations for future works. An appendix has been attached to this report. It contains the specifications of the regulator, all the design parameters for the sub-circuits and an additional work carried out to learn more about voltage multiplier or charge pump.
