Due to the limited supply of fossil fuels and the health hazards brought about from the burning of it to meet the needs of our economical and technological development, there is an urgent need to seek alternative clean and sustainable energy resources that is safe for both the environment and mankind. Some of the renewable energy sources include solar, hydroelectricity, wind and geothermal. Being one of the most abundant resources, wind energy is the fastest growing renewable energy technology worldwide. This wind energy can effectively be converted into electricity to satisfy our demands for energy and also reduces pollution. This project focuses on the development of a wind energy system using MATLAB and Visual Basic. This model calculates and analyses the energy produced by various types of wind turbines. Through this model, the user will be able to choose the appropriate wind turbine to suit the needs of energy production. This project focuses on the development of a wind energy system using MATLAB and Visual Basic. This model calculates and analyses the energy produced by various types of wind turbines. Through this model, the user will be able to choose the appropriate wind turbine to suit the needs of energy production. |
