This report is intended to give overview of what the author has done for his Final-Year Project to develop a next generation Personal Mobility Platform. In recent years, with the number of disabled people has been increased because of various reasons, such as diseases, natural disasters and old age, demand of effective and intelligent Personal Mobility Platform (PMP) is increased. However, the development of such effective and intelligent platform is not very common and the infrastructure for the disabled people mobility in the public area is hard to be found. The main objective of this project is to develop a next generation intelligent PMP based on commercially available electric wheelchair. The main area of discussion of this project is the development of closed loop control system for the platform. The closed loop control is very important for overall system performance, not only because it is used to determine the stability of the system, but also to make sure that the platform can behave as desired. This report will also discuss about software development and hardware components needed in order to develop the closed loop control system of the platform.
