Cancer is treated by various ways which includes chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery or a combination of any of the above. Chinese Herbal medicines are found to be effective against various types of cancer. The treatments target at various mechanisms in order to suppress the tumor growth. Apoptosis is induced by some of these chemotherapeutic drugs. Metastasis is one of the challenges faced during cancer treatments and therapies. Metastatic cell lines are generally resistant to some of the drugs used for chemotherapy, making the treatment more complicated. The aim of present study is to test five different components isolated from Chinese herbs for their apoptotic inducing effect in cancer line. The most effective one should be tested for its effect against metastatic cell lines.
