Description
Summary:This thesis is about advanced control for a wind turbine power generation machine. Since naturally wind is not constant and it is not a stable power source, the voltage and frequency of electric power generation can also fluctuate with the change of wind. The motivation of writing this thesis is to solve this problem. In this thesis, some control methods are proposed in order to stabilize the power generation. Take a view in the energy conversion process. Wind energy is first converted into mechanical energy with wind turbine blades. Then mechanical energy is converted into electric power with power generator. Then, after some subsequent processing with power electronics, the electric power can be further stabilized. Based on this acknowledgement, some control methods are taken on wind turbine blades, power generator and power electronics circuits. In order to control wind turbine blades, it is necessary to estimate wind first. Theory of Extreme Learning Machine is proposed for wind estimation. After estimating wind, ELM theory is also applied in control methods to adjust the pitch angle and rotational speed. Power generator control is about position control and current control. In this thesis, permanent magnet synchronous machine is chosen as the power generator being discussed. Then, theory of reset control is proposed to reduce the overshoot in PMSG. After that, reset control theory is applied in the speed control for PMSG. Electric power coming out of PMSG is then further processed with power electronics circuits. Some circuits such as filter and rectifier are proposed to remove harmonic. After control methods are taken, power generation of a wind turbine machine can be greatly stabilized.
