Tan Soon Yim School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Antennas, wave guides, microwaves, radar, radio As part of the student’s degree requirement, the student was required to complete a Final Year Project over the course of 2 Semesters. During this period, the student was involved in an Automated Localisation project. This is one of the projects involved in the Tracking and Positioning. This project uses an Agilent PNA-X Network Analyser N5244A to perform a localisation sweep with which the power level and angle is recorded for studies. Prior to this project, the experiments were carried out manually. This resulted in long hours spent and tedious steps to be taken in order to collect the data. This project was proposed to ease the work of researchers who conducted this experiment. The idea of automating the whole experiment was conceived. By incorporating the use of Faulhaber Motors and MATLAB programming, the experiment would be able to be run automatically. Much of the focus would be on the configuration of the network analyser, configuration of the motors and MATLAB programming. After which, the separate parts are incorporated into one working system. This report will provide explanations on the code used and their functions. Diagrams and figures would be included to give a better picture. This report will end off with the student’s conclusion on this project, the status of the project, the learning points and the future works that is viable to this project.
