Summary:Studies have shown that electric stimulation alters properties of engineered tissues; this includes cells proliferation, differentiation, morphology and migration. It is also shown that different parameters applied will result in different set of tissue characteristics. In our studies, we attempted to stimulate HaCaT cell with an in house electric field setup that supply 100Hz AC current for cell culture studies. Several designs were implemented to address the difficulties encountered during the experiment.
