Description
Summary:Over the past few years, the ever growing mobile market has seen a trend in the increase in the number of smart phone users. In a recent research conducted by Black Box Research, the smart phone penetration in Singapore alone is as high as 88%. On the other hand, air conditioner users in Singapore have also been increasing with the improvement in the standard of living. By tapping into the pervasiveness and the convenience of the smart phone devices, it would possible for the air conditioner users to retrieve real time information about the air quality within an instance and allow them to manage and control the efficiency of their air conditioner. Hence, this project aims to explore the use of an energy portal to gather and provide real time information about the air quality. This report will describe the development of the various wireless sensors used for data collection, as well as the presentation of the data collected in smart phone devices.
