Description
Summary:The exponential increase of consumer devices such as hand phones and tablets mean that there is a higher demand for DC power supply. As schools are progressing towards incorporating IT into their classes, teachers are gradually introducing electronic devices in classrooms to facilitate learning. This will cause a demand for DC power that is used to charge these electronic devices. This project aims to create and implement a simulation of a DC distribution network for such situations in the future, where students are able to charge their devices directly using DC power, without the need to use a charger to convert AC to DC. It also examines the advantages and disadvantages of such a network. Existing DC distribution networks and commonly used DC voltages also be looked into. Finally, there will be recommendations of future work that can be done to further improve on this DC distribution network.
