Description
Summary:Metamaterials have drawn attention of intensive interest of scientists in recent years because of their different physical properties exceptional in nature. Many industries see them as the heart of wireless communication and data storage because of the control and manipulation of electromagnetic waves. This technology will challenge demands of material properties and the structure of electromagnetic materials instead of natural media which are often used: optical fibers, dielectric mirrors, diffraction gratings and photonic crystals. It is very essential to design metamaterials between theory and practice. Using large amount of full-wave electromagnetic simulations and S-parameter retrievals is a kind of traditional method and for single metamaterial, it is optimized to repeat the numerical simulations. In this final year project report, I will give you an insight of what metamaterial is, the properties and applications of metamaterials as well as the design and simulation on tunable chiral metamaterials.
