Summary: | Final Year Project is a one-year project designed by Nanyang Technological University which aims to give final year students who are going to graduate an opportunity to explore deeper in their interest field and provide them significant skills and experiences needed for professional working environments. Furthermore, it may help students to be more aware of their career selection.
During the time working on this final year project, I discovered many interesting aspects of software development and design specifically on Android application development. Initially, Basic programming skills such as C++ language, Java Script were being taught during the course of studying EEE, these core courses allows me to equip with basic techniques in software development as well as software development life cycle from analyzing, design to develop, testing and deploying. This project gives me the opportunity to practice my programming skills, to become proficient in using Java programming language with Eclipse- A programming platform for one of the most famous Integrated Development Environments for android application development. Lastly, during the course of this project, it sub-consciously build on my self-discipline, project scheduling skill, time organizing skill, self-learning ability, and other soft skills such as writing a formal report and presentation skills.
This FYP period have shaped my interest in software development and provided me valuable insight on how to become a professional engineer in this field. |
