Summary: | Graphene based transparent electrode was developed with the technique of spin coating of Ag nanowire (NW) and graphene oxide (GO). The best properties obtain with this method is was optical transmittance of 82.2% at 700 nm light and 80.1% at 550 nm light with 1mm thick PC substrate included and sheet resistance of 205.6 Ω/sq . The exponential relationship between GO and sheet resistance was discussed and the plateau region was found to be at 300μL for
AgNW concentration of 0.8 wt%. GO was found to have negligible effect on optical transmittance when added in small amount such as 50μL, however this small amount can result
in a large decrease in sheet resistance of electrode due to bridging of electrical conduction gap between AgNWs. GO was tested to be an effective material for over coating layer (OCL) which prevents the layer of AgNW from oxidizing. The effect of plasma treatment on Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and Polycarbonate (PC) film was investigated and found that the lowest water contact angle that could be achieved is at ~30o. This increase in hydrophilic properties of the surface allows techniques such as spin coating and drop casting to be used on hydrophobic PET and PC film. |
