Hoi Chu Hong School of Computer Engineering DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering::Software::Software engineering Technology has come to grow at an exponential rate, for both software and hardware, and this in turn has caused some cultural shifts, especially in the way we use and handle our devices. In the software field, numerous applications have been created to make menial tasks easier, or to remove any communication barriers created by distance, such as Skype and Facebook and the like. On the other hand, the fast pace of technology also has evolved consumerism. Due to advances in technology, particularly in manufacturing, new products are released at an overwhelming rate, not only for electronics, but for household items, clothes, and the like as well. Because of the quick lifecycle of items, most people would want to sell items they don’t need anymore that are still in good condition, which can often be seen in the form of secondhand sales or bazaars or online selling, such as eBay. The problem with secondhand sales and other small time processes is that most people would not know these sales even existed. On the other hand, giant public listings might make it difficult to browse, and tend to feature the sales more than the products themselves. This project aims to create and develop an application to address this problem, and to provide users around the world a means of displaying what they have for sale. The application made will integrate the control and functionalities found in e-commerce, while incorporating concepts from social networks, such as UI design, ease of use, communication, information design, user experience, etc. By providing a means to quickly create a post to sell items, the application aims to make secondhand selling a very simple process – from taking a photo to writing the information needed. It will also make buying a more interactive process, as users will be able to browse through a whole slew of items that others want to sell as well. This project implemented the application using iOS, with the assistance of a Python web service, designed with iOS7.
