Description
Summary:This paper mainly talks about the experimental study on load frequency regulation in a comparably small smart grid system by describing a controller’s functionality in the isolation operation mode of the network. A micro gird normally connect to a medium voltage network. The operation of droop-controlled frequency regulation has been described and presented. It is possible that both pre-planned and unexpected isolation happens during the Microgrid operation, and it is necessary that the system is able to maintain stability. In this project, droop controller has been introduced consists of both inner control for voltage and current and external control for power sharing among various connected DG systems. Both theory concept and simulation design architecture has been illustrated in the following report. Normally many of the loads connected to a MicroGrid are resistive loads. These loads are able to operate at a wide range of frequencies. However, three type of load condition simulation of the described controller has been verified comparably. Finally, the conclusion and future work recommendation has been introduced.
