Description
Summary:As the world is turning towards green renewable energy, electric vehicle (EV) is gaining popularity and the big players are starting to roll out more EVs. As EV also require to recharge like their counter fossil fuel vehicle, a service industry will emerge to serve recharging needs of consumers. The charging infrastructure will make use of existing electricity production and distribution to build on an infrastructure network for charging station. The challenge comes in when fast charging station comes into the picture as it will put more load on the power grid. Fast charging also require the battery and the charger to communicate each other via a communication bus call ‘CANBus’. As modern vehicle comes with more devices like Global Positioning System (GPS), diagnosis of vehicle via computer, etc. CANBus is increasing becoming a more important role as it is able to handle communication between all this complex devices. With the introducing of EV, it would not only need to be able to handle more information and traffic within the vehicle, but also with external devices like EV Charging Station. This project focus on the communication of CANBus as it is the backbone of the vehicle where information traffic is needed to know when and where a communication is establish and being sent to. It is also able to show that CANBus devices not only receive the information and execute, but also to identify the message intended for the device and to reply the request information to the sender. Batteries from an EV is the power for the vehicle. Without proper information from the batteries, the vehicle would not be able to determine how far the EV will travel before next charge. However, if the information is timely and accurate, EV will be able to integrate all the on board devices to enhance the driving process making it a more comfortable journey for the user.
