Summary: | This project presents the process in design and implement of an Android based software, in driving optical sensors to detect respiration rate, analyze and regenerate the data into waveform, to serve as a real-time updating health-monitoring application. An optical fiber sensor is able to extract the respiration rate based on the micro bending effect on the optical fibers.
Built-in Bluetooth module is implemented in this project to receive data. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) is designed on Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 to display the respiration signal waveform and respiratory rate. The signal waveform is able to update in real time. By detecting the number of peak values in a fix window size, the respiratory rate can be calculated. |
