Summary:Chinese rural healthcare system now is at the crossroad of reform, because it shows a great difficult to attract hew talents to join the village doctors group. Unfortunately most of the current village doctors have worked for several decades, and it is time for them to retire. Maintaining or eliminating the village-level healthcare system is arguable by scholars and policy-makers. This paper argues for the maintaining of the system, because of the big values of village doctors. In this precondition, the author analyzes the reasons which cause the deficiency of workforce in Chinese rural healthcare system and also give systematic and specific suggestions to solve this problem.
