Description
Summary:Stress and strain are two familiar terms to designers and that is why, in most rubber companies, surface tension strain, and strain energy density are the two terms most often used for the prediction of rubber failure. Tearing energy or crack growth approach, even thought it has been around since 1920s, was hardly used in rubber industry due to its complexities and intensive computational needs. But with computers becoming faster every year, this method is more becoming the method of the choice.
