Summary: | This project seeks to trace the progress of QCCs in Singapore since its inception in 1982. It provides a comprehensive study of the various stages of the QCC process and an overview of the QCC Movement in Singapore. A content analysis of newspaper articles from the years 1990 to 1994 revealed that most QCC practitioners in Singapore placed major emphasis on QCCs as a means to achieve productivity-related gains. The results also revealed that generally, the QCC practitioners in Singapore have a balanced view concerning the benefits that can be reaped from QCCs. In particular, they mentioned both organisational and employee benefits in the newspaper clippings. It is recommended that organisations that have adopted QCCs should institute evaluation procedures to ensure that the potential benefits are reaped. This is necessary because evaluation is a continuous process that must be in place for the continual success of QCCs in the workplace. |
