新加坡华艺节研究2003年至2014年的筹划、发展与影响 = A study of the planning, development and impact of Huayi festival in Singapore (2003-2014)

随着滨海艺术中心的成立，就在2003年举行了第一届的华艺节。华艺节以滨海艺术中心的理念发展，同时也希望能够给予本地华人展示艺术的平台。虽然一开始的目标很简单，但是发展至今可以看出华艺节身负重任。不仅是新加坡华人艺术家的平台，也是他们与海外艺术家切磋、学习和合作的节日。华艺节也身负培养新加坡人对艺术的兴趣，不只提供艺术节目，也尽量扩大新加坡人的经验与眼界。华艺节有时候就因此挑战观众的思维，让他们在参与华艺节是能够学习和体验新鲜的事情。在不久前，第十二届华艺节刚刚落幕，但是第十三届，甚至第十五节的华艺节已经紧锣密鼓地在筹备当中了。本文将把焦点放在华艺节的筹备上，然后再探讨华艺节十二年来的发展，以及对大众与社会的影响。由于没有人对华艺节进行过研究，因此在论证的时候使用了其他艺术节和节庆活动书籍和论文的资料。文章也参考了不少的报章作为辅助资料，结合官方的数据探讨华艺节对社会的影响。Following the establishment of Esplanade, Theatres on the Bay, Huayi Festival made its debut in 2003. Huayi Festival’s aims are in line with Esplanade’s mission and vision. It also hopes to serves as a platform for local Chinese artist to display their achievement in the arts. Although Huayi Festival started with a simple aim in mind, it has since developed to encompass other aims. Not only was Huayi Festival a platform for local artists or budding artists, they also provide the local artists with exposure to arts practiced by overseas Chinese artist. In addition, it serves as a platform to learn from each other, as well as presents opportunities of collaboration between local Chinese artists and Overseas Chinese artists. As for the audiences, Huayi Festival hope to provide them with brand new experiences and challenge the audiences’ minds. The twelfth Huayi Festival ended less than a month ago, and the next few Huayi Festival’s plans are already underway. This paper focuses on the planning of Huayi Festival and also discusses the developments and impacts of Huayi Festival in the last twelve years. As there has been no precedence in the study of Huayi Festival, resources are limited. Hence, this paper also uses information from studies of general arts festivals and events to build up on some arguments. Besides this, the paper also uses news reports and statistics to form its argument for Huayi Festival’s impacts on the society.
